Let's Face It

the pleasure of my life
A few days ago, I was having a conversation with a current boss about possible jobs I could do to earn extra money.

In the conversation, the person said that he thought I'd be great at real estate because I am friendly.

In tryin to talk me into it, he said 'because let's face it Mrs. Carr, you have nothing.' He went on to point out how poor we are and how hard times always are for us.

Hmmmm....

Intresting.
It is true, life is so hard sometimes.
And he is right, we don't have many possessions.

But really, poor?
I have never considered us poor.
I have actually never spent a lot of time dwelling on the things that we don't have.

And I keep going back to this 'because let's face it Mrs. Carr, you have nothing.'

Wow.
Of course there are times that I wish life was easier.
There are times that worry about money has made me physically ill.
And I have cried enough tears to fill an ocean over our kids and what we can't do for them.

But poor?
No.
Not ever have I ever once felt poor.

It seems to me that a lot of people have no clear understanding of the word poor.

And I think maybe he is the one that is poor if he can't clearly see that I have everything I ever wanted in all of my life.

Bravo! Well said. And how sad that the person doesn't see how rich you are. They, possibly, are the poor one.
